Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord - culture, nature and light spectacle

The Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, often just called Landschaftspark Nord, is a well-known multi-function terrain. It originated from a decommissioned smelting works in he district Meideric at the end of the last century. The landscaped park is situated at the Route of Industrial Culture, a theme road, which connects interesting industrial monuments in the Ruhr area.

There is a diverse leisure time offer for the visitor. An old gasometer houses Europe's largest artificial sports diving centre. The most different events take place in the former factory halls, climbing gardens and a high-rope course challenge sportive talented people an a defunct furnace is used as a viewing tower now.

Guided tours are on offer for all age groups day and night. After dark visitor can experience the colourful illumination of the park. The light can be seen from the nearby motorway already.
